  25.  Dust and fingerprints on your Directory USA CDs can
  26.  make the data they contain difficult to read. To 
  27.  avoid problems accessing the data on your CD's, please
  28.  make sure the CD is clean before placing it in the 
  29.  CD-ROM drive.

  35.  If you have a question about DIRECTORY USA while 
  36.  you're operating the program, just press F1. In most 
  37.  cases, this key opens the Help system directly to a 
  38.  topic about your choices from your location in the 
  39.  program.

  41.  The DIRECTORY USA development team created this 
  42.  extensive system of links between the program and the 
  43.  Help file to save you the time of looking up a topic

  47.  TOPIC 3:  Default Directory for DIRECTORY USA

  50.  Any time you set up (install) DIRECTORY USA, the setup 
  51.  program places several files on your hard drive. If 
  52.  installing in Windows 3.1, the default directory is
  53.  called Dirusa3. If installing in Windows 95/NT, the
  54.  default directory is called Directory USA 3.0.

  57.  TOPIC 4:  The DIRECTORY USA Database
  58.  ******************************************************

  60.  Due to its large size, the DIRECTORY USA database is 
  61.  not installed on your hard drive.  This means a 
  62.  DIRECTORY USA CD needs to be in the CD-ROM drive when
  63.  you wish to use the product.
  64.  
  65.  Because the states are divided among the four 
  66.  DIRECTORY USA CDs, you may need to switch CDs before 
  67.  you search. The contents of each CD are listed below: 
  68.  
  69.  CD #1 (A-G) contains:  Alabama, Alaska, Arizona,
  70.  Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware,
  71.  District of Columbia, Florida, and Georgia.
  72.  
  73.  CD #2 (H-MN) contains:  Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois,
  74.  Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine,
  75.  Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, and Minnesota.

  77.  CD #3 (MO-O) contains:  Mississippi, Missouri, Montana,
  78.  Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico,
  79.  New York, Nevada, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio,
  80.  Oklahoma, and Oregon.

  82.  CD #4 (P-W) contains:  Pennsylvania, Rhode Island,
  83.  South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah,
  84.  Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin,
  85.  and Wyoming.

  88.  TOPIC 5:  Performance with Large Search Results

  91.  Sometimes a search will result in thousands (or more)
  92.  of matches. Once search results number above a 
  93.  thousand records, the remaining search time will 
  94.  increase. In this situation, we recommend that you 
  95.  refine your search criteria to obtain a more 
  96.  manageable number of matches.

  98.  You can refine a search by:

  100.  1) Entering additional information, if possible.
  101.  2) Running several searches.
  102.  3) Removing wildcards from your search criteria.

  105.  TOPIC 6:  Tips for Customizing Printed Output

  108.  After the search results display, you can print or
  109.  preview the results. Printing the search results provides
  110.  you with a copy of the address records for reference at a
  111.  later time. You can customize the format of the information
  112.  being printed by hiding or resizing any of the fields being
  113.  displayed onscreen. Additionally, printing in landscape mode
  114.  may provide more room for printing all of the various fields
  115.  being used in the program. The portrait/landscape setting
  116.  is typically located on the setup or properties button of
  117.  the print driver.

  120.  TOPIC 7:  Using the Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 5L

  123.  When using the Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 5L, make sure
  124.  you use it in PCL, rather than Host mode. Using Host 
  125.  mode could create undesirable results.
